School Bus Fleet Garners Safety and Training Awards

education, kentucky board of education, school bus fleet magazine, school buses,

Montgomery County school buses have picked up more than students in recent years: The school bus garage in Mt. Sterling has also gathered a number of impressive safety and training awards.

There was the 2001-2002 exemplary district award from the Kentucky Board of Education‚ for example‚ plus the honor of being named one of School Bus Fleet magazine’s top 50 fleets across the country.

Achieving these honors takes meticulous attention to detail‚ but according to Karen Gullett‚ director of transportation‚ it also takes a great staff.

“We feel like if we’re good to the community‚ they’ll be good to us‚” Gullett says. “We’ve got a pretty good place to work here‚ and the drivers put a lot into it.”
